TWO DECADES AGO

A cool breeze rustled the leaves while children laughed in the distance. Naina uncapped her pen and stared at the blank page.

She turned her head as she felt someone climb onto the bench beside her. It was Rivaan.

"Hello." He greeted cheerfully, making her smile.

"Hey, kiddo." She replied softly.

His little fingers fumbled with his T-shirt as he tried to find the right words.

Naina noticed it. "What is it?"

He rubbed the back of his neck shyly. "Can I ask you something?"

She frowned at his sudden shyness. "Yeah, why not?"

He hesitated for a moment before asking,

"Which do you like more—a villa or a mansion?"

She raised an eyebrow, caught off guard by the question.

"Hmm... I like villas." She replied. "Why are you asking?"

He shook his head. Warm amber light filtered through the trees, birds sang their final songs of the day, and the scent of fresh grass filled the air.

"I just wanted to know." He mumbled.

Before she could ask another question, he quickly asked,

"What kind of villa do you like?"

"Why are you asking—"

He cut her off before she could finish.

"Please tell me." He whined with a pout.

She sighed softly at his cute expression. Thinking for a moment, a smile spread across her face as she described her dream villa.

"I... I really love huge villas that look like they belong in a fairy tale. The ones with big glass windows, a giant swimming pool, beautiful gardens, glowing lights at night, and lots of balconies. They just look so beautiful and magical."

While she happily described it, he secretly took notes in his notebook without her noticing.

"Done!" he exclaimed happily.

Naina snapped out of her thoughts and looked at him in confusion.

"What?"

He swallowed nervously and glanced around.

"Goal..." he replied.

He didn't want to tell her he was planning to make that exact villa for her.

Naina's confusion deepened.

"Goal?"

Silence settled between them.

"Parth!"

His mother's voice came from behind the bench.

His eyes widened as an excuse instantly came to mind.

"My mom's calling me."

He quickly grabbed his notebook.

"Bye!"

Before running away, he placed a rose he had picked from the garden on her lap.

Naina looked down at the rose, then watched him disappear.

"This boy..."

She chuckled softly before placing the rose carefully inside her notebook.

OBEROI MANSION

Rivaan sat at his desk with different colors of clay spread across it. Beside him lay the notes he had taken while Naina described her dream villa.

He took a deep breath, picked up a piece of clay, and clumsily began shaping the base.

The night grew darker. The moon climbed higher into the sky as moonlight streamed into the room.

Rivaan rested his head on the desk, fast asleep, his tiny hand still clutching a lump of clay.

The half-finished villa sat quietly beside him.

The bedroom door creaked open.

His father stepped inside, his eyes softening at the sight of his sleeping son.

He walked over, gently unclenched the clay from Rivaan's fist, cleaned his palms with a tissue, then carefully lifted him into his arms.

Rivaan made a sleepy noise but didn't wake up.

His father smiled and laid him on the bed, pulling the duvet over him.

"You're really attached to her, hmm?"

"Angel..." Rivaan mumbled in his sleep, hugging the pillow tightly.

His father laughed quietly and shook his head.

"Do you think it's safe?"

Rivaan's mother asked from the doorway.

His father turned toward her.

"What do you mean?"

She sighed softly and gestured for him to step outside.

He followed her into the hallway.

"You know her father."

She spoke after Rivaan's bedroom door closed with a soft click.

His father leaned against the nearby wall and gently pulled her into his arms.

"I know."

"But he won't hurt a five-year-old boy."

She rested her head against his chest.

"How can you be so sure he'll be safe?"

Her voice was filled with concern.

Rivaan's father kissed the top of her head.

"I always send bodyguards after our little troublemaker to protect him."

"Really?"

She looked up at him with relief.

The tension in the hallway slowly eased.

He smiled.

"Yes. Now, can we go to sleep?"

She nodded, and together they walked toward their bedroom.

As the days passed, Rivaan couldn't make the villa the way he wanted, no matter how many times he tried.

Sometimes he became so frustrated that he'd sigh, put the clay aside, and wonder if he should just give up.

But the thought of Naina's happy smile when she saw her dream villa always made him try again.

After every short break, he'd return with a small smile and continue working.

Even if it wasn't perfect, he refused to give up because he wanted to create the beautiful villa she had imagined.

Finally, her birthday arrived.

The clay villa stood proudly on his desk, ready.

.......

The birthday party venue sparkled with floating balloons, fairy lights, elegant decorations, and a warm, joyful atmosphere.

Children ran around laughing while guests chatted happily.

Naina's father greeted each guest with a polite smile.

The smile disappeared the moment he saw the Oberoi family arrive.

The Oberoi and Bedi families had been business rivals for decades.

Yet somehow, Rivaan and Naina had become friends.

No one knew how.

"Hello, future father-in-law."

Rivaan greeted him with his usual mischievous smile while his parents walked away to greet a few businessmen.

Naina's father's jaw tightened at the nickname.

Before he could say anything, Rivaan's bodyguard carried the handmade clay villa forward.

Everyone turned to look at it in surprise.

But Rivaan froze in place looking at stairs

His jaw dropped.
